Authored by Swathi Pusuluri, our Strategic Business Development Leader at Axius Water®, this WCDA blog examines how a municipal owner used a Progressive Design-Build delivery model, led by Burns & McDonnell, to support a wastewater expansion and enable early validation of key decisions.
In this case, the owner’s prior experience operating the SEQUOX® biological treatment process— supplied by Aero-Mod®, an Axius Water company—played an important role. Early collaboration using the Progressive Design-Build framework allowed the owner to validate technology fit alongside cost, constructability, site constraints, and schedule before key decisions were finalized.
The project illustrates how collaborative delivery can help municipal owners move from preference to confidence by aligning technical choices with delivery realities early in the process.
